I would venture to say that it is one "traditional" song which doesn't have that much reference to Christ in it, other than the end of the line where it says,"when Jesus washed my sins away." Conveniently, when sung by a Southern Baptist Gospel choir in robes, they never have to reach that part, and can cut just prior to it.
